Our Story

When Amy and Chris got together, they shared a passion for great food. Their hands-on pizza parties showed they weren’t the only ones – and soon after, The Northern Dough Co. was born!

In 2025, The Northern Dough Co. turned up the heat, as Amy and Chris welcomed two new co-owners who share their love of great food and bringing people together, none other than Ant & Dec! Now it’s a dream team of four who all agree there’s nothing better than gathering your mates or family for a proper good time… whether you’re stretching dough, sharing a slice, or settling in for your favourite TV show (or better yet, doing all three at once). From spreading the joy of great food to cooking up exciting new products and fun ways to bring the nation together, this story’s only just getting started.

Where it all started

With three generations of bakers before him, Chris had a taste for all things baked from his earliest days. When he met Amy, their shared passion for food meant hosting pizza parties for friends, often using dough from the family’s bakery. The dough was supplied to pizzerias nationwide, a genuine restaurant quality solution for pizza chefs up and down the country. And people loved getting involved in the making, just as much as the munching, and their hands-on pizza parties became famous (to their friends, at least!) Cue lightbulb moment, what if they could bring ready-made dough to the pizza-loving public, so that everyone could have a slice of the fun?

Making it happen

It didn’t happen overnight, but after many amazing (but gruelling) 18-hour days at foodie festivals and turning up at weekly famers markets to sell-out success, they secured spots on the shelves of local retailers and farm shops in their beloved North West. This turned into stocking supermarkets across the country – and suddenly the Northern Dough Co was national!

It doesn’t stop there

In just over a decade, they have created lots of new products (with so many more planned!). The doughtastic creations include brioche dough, sourdough, two mouthwatering varieties of cookie dough,all with lots of delicious ways to use them, from cinnamon buns to cookie dough puddings, they’re still finding new recipe ideas! There’s even a ready-to-cook doughball bake, perfect for sharing and a delicious way to kick off pizza night while everyone is busy building their own creations.

The Future

Some things will never change, creating delicious products that put the fun into creating great food from the comfort of your own home, with the people you love will always be the glue that holds the team together. But now with Ant & Dec on board, they can’t wait to reach even more people and create even more ways to share the love of great food and great times.
